Larry Kaminer: Founder & Safety Trainer
Larry was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa during the turbulence of Apartheid. He has traveled extensively in Southern Africa to include visits to and dealing with multiple situations in high risk destinations. Larry became a lifetime student of personal safety and crime avoidance after surviving several assaults and attempted assaults. His sense of situational awareness and personal security were heightened after an attempted home invasion and as witness to political unrest and rioting during the 1976 Soweto uprisings. Despite training in martial arts and instruction in defensive firearms use, Larry carries forward a strong belief that awareness and avoidance must always be the first and primary line of defense. Larry received his Doctorate in Chiropractic after completing undergraduate coursework at the University of Florida, Gainesville. His practice had a strong concentration in sports injuries and forensic evaluations as a consultant/ IME to workers compensation insurers and third party administrators. He was also a Qualified Medical Examiner, State of California, Worker’s Compensation Division. Larry’s life experiences allow him to bring a real world civilian perspective to the issue of personal safety and he founded the Personal Safety Training Group in 2006.
Speak for Success Women's Leadership Institute
Speak for Success Women's Leadership Institute works with domestic violence survivors and helps them rebuild their self-confidence and self-esteem through a year-long professional development program. Based in San Diego, CA they are planning to expand by offering a certification process to train others to deliver our programs across the country.
